Waypoints are shownavailable for downloading]] [[Imagen:Paso_valle_aguas_calientes.jpg|thumb|Pass to the valley of Aguas Calientes. Photo: Constanza Miranda]]  A few steps to the left of the entrance to the Termas de Chillan resort hot springs, at the last curve before the parking lot, a path begins that ascends a forest of Coigües. At the start you will see a wooden that says "Cabalgatas a Fumarolas - T. Aguas Calientes - Cel. xxxxxxxx". This point is at 1.710 meters of elevation. The path ascends through the forest on a very clear track. After some 30-40 minutes of walking, the vegetation disappears and the first geysers become visible. The route goes some 100 meters from them, so a detour is well worth it. Then you should continue to the pass that leads down to the mud baths. Here, thumb|Aguas Calientes Valley as seen from the Pass. Photo: Juan Pablo Ortega you will see the second pass for the first time, towards the east, located next to the left of a tower of rocks. At this point, you will have two options: descend to the mud baths and then ascend through the valley, or ascend a few meters on the ridge towards some second geysers.
[[Imagen:Perfil_valle_aguas_calientesIf you take the geyser route, once these cross, you will see a fork, which isn't too visible.jpg|thumb|left|200px|Aguas Calientes Trek ProfileA path descends towards the valley and another follows the hillside without losing elevation, following a black tubing that carries water to Termas de Chillán. Although the path that descends to the valley will make you lose elevation and goes back through vegetation, it is a more comfortable trek than the traverse next to the tubing (the waypoint "Estero", though, corresponds to the traverse route). The main valley path is also very well marked with white round circles on rocks along the way. Waypoints available for downloading]]
Along this main route, after about 30 minutes of walking through the forest the trees begin shrink until the vegetation disappears again at 2080 meters. The track to the pass is very clear, along volcanic rock and scree, ascending to a maximum of 2400 meters (2 to 3 hours from the parking lot). At the start you will see a red and white sign the signals "Fumarolas->" (fumaroles), so it is difficult to get lost. This point is at 1.710 meters of altitude.
The path ascends through You may find isolated spots of snow until the forest on a very clear track. After some 30-40 minutes middle of walking, the vegetation disappears and summer. From the first fumaroles become visible. The route goes some 100 meters from thempass, so the detour is well worth it. Then on a sunny day you should keep going to can see the pass that leads to the mud baths. Only 400 meters later (East) you will see a fork, which is not too visiblethe second thermal river. A path descends until reaching the valley There are nice campsites here and another follows the hillside without losing height, following a black tubbing that carries water to Termas de Chillánhike can be ended at this point. Although This campsite is more scenic than the path that descends to second described, with views of the valley will make you lose height and goes back to volcano, however the vegetation, it hot springs are quite hot. There is also a more comfortable trek than side hike upstream along the traverse next ridge once you cross the second thermal river which takes you to the tubbing waterfalls (the waypoint "Estero", though, corresponds to the traverse routethey can be dry off season). There is also a small waterfall slightly downstream at this site.

You may find isolated spots of snow until Continuing along the middle of the summer. From the passmain trail some 630 meters, on a sunny day you may appreciate the volcán Antuco y la Sierra Velluda to the south. Junto a él existen buenos lugares para acamparThere are colder streams that feed into this pool too so you can sit where the temperature is most comfortable. Este punto da fin al This point is the end of the trek aún cuando el sendero continua hasta el , however you can continue on the trail to Rio Ñuble. Éste esta descrito en el This is described in the trek Rio Ñuble - Valle de Aguas Calientes
