→Before you depart: Don't do this ...
So far I observed: As more ambitious the announcement was and as more attention-grabbing the web page with this announcement appeared as less the loud-mouth actually archived. Let me share one example: One hiker used without asking and consent a slight modification of the trail name to create a domain and name a web page on which he loudly and proudly announced a "1500 mile thru-hike of the Greater Patagonian Trail". He used this page to ask for donations and even got T-shirts printedproclaiming this ambitious plan. After he started it took about just one week till he aborted the wannabe "thru-hike" and started . He then took buses to bus travel primarily from national park to national park to visit a couple of the more established trails. This change of plans was actually a wise decision. What is hilarious ridiculous is that he still makes it appear on this page as he actually hiked and paddled 1500 miles through Patagonia. Too proud to be honest, too loud to learn! This is not just an exaggeration; it's a blunt lie.
If you really believe that you need to publish your plans before you depart then do it with in an humble attitude manner and as an tentative plan. Don't declare you a winner before you start and share your lessons learned while being on the trail but latest after you concluded your journey. Don't add to the ruins or pride by publishing your mission without having the courage to honestly write how it developed and terminated. And don't worry; only few people truly marvel flawless heroes but what most people admire are . The majority admires authentic humans that also share their misses, struggles and lessons learned.
